First Day of Classes

So today I had two classes they were:

Class 1. Vocabulary - for this class it was focused on time, months, years, days of the week, addresses(knowledge which I used today to mail something), etc... This class is being taught be Asano...thus we call her Asano Sensei.

Class 2. More vocabulary and their conjugations - We went over about 20 vocab. words and all the conjugations that I have learned in the last two years plus an few more that I had not learned...I guess I don't know everything (who'da thought! :]) and will need to study hardcore. My teachers name is Ueda Sensie.

Both of my professors are very nice, but very demanding. I think all of the teachers will be similar, but we shall see...Overall both classes were very informative and a good time.

At about dinner time a bunch of us had a meeting with Mr. King (an English teacher at Chubu) about cell phones in Japan. Phones are very expensive here unless you find a deal at a store or a used phone or something...Fortunately my roommate and I are sticklers about finding used or cheap phones that will work on Softbank's(a Japanese phone company) network as pre-paid phones...wish us luck...it will make finding a phone more adventurous to say the least.

One reason phones are takai(expensive) in Japan:

Yes, they play TV...crazy, huh?

It's about 10PM here (yes, the "Posted by ... at" stated below is way off. I don't know why.) and I'm going to bed sooner or later...Ciao.

Hi Morgan: Thanks for the class and phone info. Your classes sound really useful. I know you will do well -- you know how to study and have the discipline and determination.

Good luck with the phone search! How will you go about it? Do they advertise used Japanese phones on Japanese ebay? Or in the newspaper? Or is there a University paper or on-line network for University kids?

Anyway, good luck. What have you been eating? Please eat some sushi for me. Love, Mom
