Last Monday and Tuesday all of the international students had to give speeches to elementary school kids. We had been working on our speeches for about a month or so. Some of the more advanced students gave their speech twice while most others (like myself), only went once. The kids were very excited or maybe entertained to see a bunch of foreigners speaking to them in Japanese. All of the kids were really nice, but of course, like all little kids, they had so much energy and were really loud.
My speech went smoothly. My topic was on Western Rock n Roll and then it ends on John Denver and his song "Country Roads", which is about West Virginia. I wrote all the lyrics in Katakana and showed the kids where they would be singing and then we sang the song and I was finished. It was about 10-15 minutes long. I don't have any pictures or a grade yet, but I should get those soon...maybe...

Congratulations Morgan! Wish I could have been there to see you do your speech. I bet the little kids had a great time. Good luck on all your tests and final projects.
Sent you a care package last Thursday. You should receive it soon. Love, Mom
