Last week James, Jessi and I went to Nagoya to walk around and try to find some good food for dinner. We did all of the above. :)
First we went and walked around Nagoya station, only meandering about five blocks away from it. We didn't want to to get to far away as we wanted to be able to find our way back easily. We walked down the main street exiting from the Sakura-Dori(?) side, passing by all of the big expensive boutiques and other random stores. As we continued to walk we eventually found a little restaurant on a side street called Tengoku (馳走屋). The reason we went in was because James, who wants to try raw horse meat before he leaves saw it on the menu and exclaimed "We are eating here!" We went in and found a very nice, clean, and relaxing atmosphere. On top of that the food was delicious and well priced. I ordered tuna sashimi, James ordered some other kind of sashimi(not raw horse meat) and Jessi ordered a beef platter thing. We all shared, and everything was very good! It ended up being about 1200yen(~$12) a person total. NICE.
After we ate, we meandered a bit more, but mostly back towards Nagoya Station, which has quite a large display of Christmas lights. We walked around and admired everything and took pictures, asked others to take pictures of us (one woman would not, even though she was just waiting for some one to show up...strange). Check out the pics below for a visual aid...a picture is worth a thousand words...
