Yesterday I went to a parade with some friends. Some of them I met for the first time there and some of them were from WVU or old Japanese exchange students at WVU. Check out the videos for a brief recap of what we saw.
After the parade we went to a Japanese-Italian chain restaurant. It's pretty good considering how cheap it is. Then we went to a place called Oasis 21. Essentially it's a shopping mall, but it is built in a very strange way...it looks a little bit like a spaceship from half a block away or so. It is really close to the Nagoya TV tower.

Thanks, Morgan, for sharing these videos.
It looks like all the parade groups relate to Japan's past, I wonder if our parades are that way too? Maybe this was a holiday commemorating the past - I guess they all are!

Hi Morgan: These parades are really interesting. But what are they about? Do you have any idea? And are the participants related to the parade event? Or maybe just local groups, like in our parades where the local high school, various clubs or cultural groups have a float or a group of participants?
How was the meeting with Uncle Uncle Geof?
Love, Mom
