Dinner on Saturday

While Josh and I were in Nagoya on Saturday, we went to a little Japanese restaurant in the basement of some building by the Nagoya train station. It was really good. I didn't have anything too exciting, just inarizushi and magurosushi. Josh on the other hand ordered a bowl of rice with tuna on it...or so he thought. He did get a bowl of rice, but the tuna he received was an entire fish with it's head cut off, picked from the selection of fresh fish in front us, fried and then served to him on a separate plate. He said it was the best fish he had ever had and but delivered in a slightly unexpected fashion...

Hi Morgan! It's GREAT to see your new post! Sounds like Josh had a big surprise that worked out! It sounds like so much fun and yummy too. That's the fun of being in a new country -- all kinds of unexpected things! Have fun and study hard!

Hi Morgan-
What exactly are inarizushi and magurosushi?
When I was in Kenya one day I spent hiking with a student and we ended at his family hut where I was served a bowl of soup with an entire fish - head and all. I didn't eat much of it, so good for Josh for digging in!

Do a lot of Chubu students live at home? Is that why not much happens in evenings and weekends? Do have opportunities to go out with Japanese students?

I head back to Wheeling tomorrow - its been nice to visit Lil (and Mom) and to eat Indian and Japanese food.
