Saturday in Nagoya

We left Chubu at about two in the afternoon and when we got to Nagoya we walked around and saw all kinds of stuff. We spent a good amount of time in/at Nagoya Station and the two towers. We saw some unbelievably expensive things, street musicians, views of Nagoya, MASSIVE pachinko parlors, and tons of random stuff in the stores we walked through.

A few hours later, after we had finished dinner at a beef bowl fast-food restaurant we ran into to these two dudes, John and Jim from the states. They were both really cool and they took us to a club where they know the DJ, Trevor, so we all got in for free. We meet a bunch of people including Adam Parada, a pro basketball player. He was a really nice and invited us to his next home game in a month or so. It's gonna be pretty awesome going to that.

That is one expensive lighter. Y405,300 = ~U$4,050

Hi Morgan
Glad you went exploring yesterday. Nagoya isn't Ginza but it looks like a slice of real Japanese life. The $4000 gizmo - what is it a cell phone? I think the iPhone looks cooler! The street musicians music sounded a little Andean and their clothes looked bizzare
I looked up the basket ball player - you didn't mention that he is 7 ft tall!
I hope you also go out with the local students and spend time seeing what they do and speaking Japanese.
My computer should be here next week!

Hey Morgan!! Great photos and videos. Try to take some photos of the people you are with -- the basketball player, the 2 dudes, etc.
I am very interested in the people. But when will you spend time with Japanese kids?

Good thing none of us smoke or we'd want you to pick up one of those lighters for us!

Love, Mom
